Another day of multiple train journeys ended with us arriving to a very wet Kyoto.
Departing Shinjuku, the worlds busiest train station without than 3.5 million people passing through each day, during peak hour was quite an experience. It did allow us to have some time to shop for lunch at Tokyo station before our almost 3 hour shinkansen to Kyoto.
Once in Kyoto the real difference from our last visit became obvious: we can no longer quickly use the stairs. I lost track of how many elevators, staircases and walkways we passed through.
Only one real sight seen in Kyoto today: Fushimi Inari Taisha. It is somewhere we loved last visit and the rain have it a new feel.
Tomorrow we start exploring eastern Kyoto.
