Kyoto - Southern Higashiyama

On paper it looked like a short day. As I type this post we've ended the day some 20,000 steps and over 15 km later exhausted but delighted. Most of the day was spent in Kyoto's Southern Higashiyama district that has a temple, shrine or historical sight on just about every corner. We focused on 3 major sights today: Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Maruyama-koen Park and Shoren-in Temple. After a brief stop at our hotel we returned to Kyoto station for some shopping (window and actual) before calling it a day.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Maruyama-koen Park (and the area surrounding)

Shoren-in Temple

Kyoto station
(FYI each small Watermellon is about $10)
